DUBAI - Parents of two children with special needs have called for support and consideration from airport officials when special needs children are travelling, after the staff of an airline refused to let the family check-in the baggage on behalf of their young daughters.
In October 2007, a new ministry called, “The Angels’ Place,” began at First United Methodist Church of The Colony. This is a respite program for children with special needs, their siblings, and their parents.
No words were needed to see how much fun Lauren Russell was having. The huge grin across her face said it all. Volunteers welcome participants after an active morning of paddling on the lake. Volunteers say the joy they see in the eyes of special needs participants is sufficient reward.
