CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire in an abandoned apartment building at 13181 Calle Amapolain in Desert Hot Springs on Friday night. The incident was reported at 10:37 p.m. The fire was contained to one unit. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A private business is preparing to open its doors at the refurbished Quawpaw Baths on historic Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs. The park service has been working to rehabilitate the bathhouses and lease the structures to bring them back into use.
