Georgia To Offer More Community Living Alternatives For Individuals With Disabilities (Medical News Today)
More than 2,300 individuals with disabilities currently institutionalized in Georgia's eight public psychiatric hospitals and mental retardation facilities will have the opportunity to live in their communities with appropriate supports tailored to meet their individualized needs as a result of a settlement agreement between the state of Georgia and the HHS Office for Civil Rights (OCR).

$4.87 million grant to aid families with disabilities (Tifton Gazette)
Easter Seals Georgia Coalition, an organization designed to help children, adults, and families with disabilities or special needs through a variety of programs and services, was recently awarded a $4.87 million grant from The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. The grant was made possible by a one-time 2006 Georgia Legislature allocation.
